Education Projects Idea Book: A Guide for Volunteers.
Clay, Rebecca
This idea book comes from projects undertaken by American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) chapters and state and local retired teachers associations around the United States. The projects described range from simple acts performed by one volunteer to elaborate schemes funded by corporations, from involvement in existing programs to the establishment of new ones. The book is loosely organized by the ages of the people served. Projects devoted to school age children are introduced first, followed by those targeting adults to those promoting lifelong learning. Each chapter introduces a general area of concern and then discusses ways AARP chapters and retired teachers associations have stepped in to fill these needs. The amount of time involved, the number of volunteers needed, and the required resources are also described. Additional resources are noted for further reference. (EH)
