Four papers addressing the future of information and changes brought on due to the Internet include: "Internet and the Future of Collection Development: A Teacher Librarian's Perspective" (Jill Johnson); "The Provision of Information Services in Networked Schools" (Eric Wainwright); "When the Book? When the Net?" (Jamieson McKenzie); and "Death of the Book?" (Lynn Linning) The first paper discusses changes in the collection and in collection development in school libraries brought on by the Internet, as well as the shifting role of the teacher librarian. The second paper provides an overview of the present state of information networking in Australian schools, future developments, and opportunities and issues for schools presented by access to information through global networks. In the third paper, weaknesses of conducting research on the Internet are pointed out and benefits of printed books, electronic books, and CD-ROMs are described. The fourth paper examines the future state of the printed book. (AEF)
