Cruising through Research: Library Skills for Young Adults.
Volkman, John D.
This book presents an approach for school librarians to use to introduce basic research tools to students in grades 7-12. Twelve "Excursions" (i.e., library research projects) are described. Excursions 1 and 2 provide an introduction to reference books, and Excursions 3 and 4 explore note-taking and basic organization of research papers. The projects in Excursions 5-12 cover a variety of topics, including World War II, endangered species, the Vietnam War, and astronomy. Objectives, complete instructions, a list of needed resources, reproducible activity sheets, and a bibliography are provided for each project. (MES)
