This is the ninth edition of "Snapshot," providing information about students, student performance, staffing, and financing in Texas public school districts. This annual summary is a source of information for anyone interested in the Texas public education system. The publication begins with statistical highlights that provide an overview of education at the state level. This opening narrative is followed by the predominant section of the book, "Detailed Statistics." This section contains 87 items of information about the state, regions in the state, and the 1,044 school districts in Texas. The first part of the detailed statistics shows districts categorized by size, community type, tax effort, property wealth per student, and Education Service Center region. Information is grouped into: (1) students; (2) student performance; (3) district staff; and (4) finances. The second section presents information on the 87 items for each district.
