Prepared for a 1993 accreditation visit, this self-study report describes outcomes at Washington's Highline Community College for 10 college-wide standards. Following prefatory materials, including a campus map, a description of the self-study process, timelines, and abbreviations and definitions, an introduction provides general information on the college's mission, service area, students, and programs. The remaining sections present descriptions, analyses, and recommendations for the following standard areas: (1) an appropriate institutional mission and objectives; (2) finances, including data on revenues, expenditures, financial aid, program costs, and gifts and endowments; (3) the physical plant, reviewing campus maintenance and computers and other instructional technology; (4) library and learning resources, analyzing materials and services, utilization, off-campus programs, and effectiveness; (5) educational programs, describing procedures for adopting new courses and programs and describing outcomes for six divisions; (6) continuing education and special instructional activities; (7) instructional staff, reviewing development activities and funds and faculty evaluation and involvement; (8) administration, focusing on administrative organization, faculty committees, finances, and public relations; (9) students, including admissions, advising, alumni relations, athletics, the bookstore, child care, counseling, services for disabled students, extracurricular activities, financial aid services, high school equivalency and college high school programs, health services, international students, job referral, multicultural student services, orientation, registration, testing, and programs for women; and (10) scholarship and research, analyzing assessment methods, instructional improvement, faculty training and travel, and sources of funds.
