Teaching about the Holocaust: A Resource Book for Educators.

This book provides teachers with guidelines, resources, historical information, background information, and some special interest topics relating to the Holocaust. Seven chapters include: (1) "Teaching Guidelines"; (2) "Annotated Bibliography"; (3) "Annotated Videography"; (4) "Frequently Asked Questions"; (5) "The Holocaust: A Historical Summary"; (6) "Children and the Holocaust"; and (7) "Chronology.""Teaching Guidelines" includes rationale, methodology, curriculum integration, and generalized lesson plan approaches. All books and videos listed have been selected for their appropriateness as teaching tools and are categorized by content area and indicate intended viewer age groups. "Frequently Asked Questions" gives brief, introductory answers to "What, Who, Why, and Hows" of the complex history of the Holocaust. The final three chapters present condensed overviews of the Holocaust and discuss the victimization of all children in occupied Europe, regardless of race or ethnic background, by the Nazis during the Holocaust years.
