This volume contains papers on computing and television as well as on the rapidly growing area of electronic communication among teachers and between teachers and students. Data analysis is now an important strand in school curricula in many nations. Many of the contributors discuss statistics in the schools from various perspectives. University education is not neglected, nor is the issue of training government statistical staff. This proceedings is divided into eight sections according to general topic. The sections are: (1) "Statistical Education at School Level"; (2) Teaching Probability and Statistics at University Level"; (3) "Computers, Video and Other Tools in the Teaching of Probability and Statistics"; (4) "Education Programs and Training in Statistics"; (5) Issues in the Teaching of Probability and Statistics"; (6) "The IASE [International Association for Statistical Education] and Problems of Statistical Education in Developing Countries"; (7) "Updating Teaching Methods in Probability and Statistics"; and (8) abstracts from the poster sessions.
