This teacher's guide is designed to help teachers conduct a course in fundamental blueprint reading as part of a workplace literacy program. The topics in the course are as follows: basic views of objects, meaning of commonly used lines on a blueprint, basic dimensioning conventions, decimal tolerances, precision measuring, blueprint terms used in the title box and note column, symbols commonly used in company blueprints, metric and customary units, and angle measurement. The course uses company blueprints in the lessons. Components of the guide include an instructional guide for basic blueprint reading class, a pretest and a posttest, and 14 lesson plans and exercises. (KC)
