This how-to guide for teachers suggests ways to help children with attention deficit disorders (ADD) in the general classroom, by means of specific instructional practices to be used as part of an instructional program based on classroom accommodations, behavior management, and individualized academic instruction. Basic steps in developing an effective educational program for the ADD student are outlined, including evaluating the child's individual needs, selecting appropriate instructional practices, and integrating appropriate practices within an individualized program.
