This practicum was designed to train inexperienced teachers in the basics of computer technology, multimedia, authoring, and networking. The goals were to enable teachers with access to computers in the educational setting for the first time to utilize this technology as an instructional strategy and as a management tool. Six teachers were selected, four with classroom computer mini labs, two without, to meet in six weekly sessions to participate in training. Training took place on both Macintosh and IBM platforms. Each teacher included computer technology in a unit of instruction and began to use computers for management purposes. Analysis of the resulting data showed that all objectives were achieved, and all six teachers are actively working with technology. The training sessions attracted the attention of administrators and fellow teachers who are exploring ways to begin using technology.
