This document provides a statistical account of higher education in North Carolina. It presents data from fall 1994 as well as data on trends from 1983 to 1994. The 84 tables and 17 figures presenting the data are grouped into the following sections: (1) current enrollment, (2) enrollment trends, (3) undergraduate transfers, (4) degrees conferred, (5) faculty, (6) library resources, (7) costs to students, (8) admissions, (9) student financial aid, and (10) student housing. Tables generally provide detailed data for individual institutions, grouped by institutional type (public universities, military centers, community colleges, private senior colleges and universities, private junior colleges, and seminaries/bible colleges). Figures summarize the data for the state as a whole and illustrate trends since 1983-84. Appendixes explain sources of data, definitions of terms, and intellectual discipline categorization. (DB)
