Management Curriculum Guide.
Texas Tech Univ., Lubbock. Home Economics Curriculum Center.
This curriculum guide on management was developed for use in vocational home economics education in Texas. Competencies and subcompetencies are listed at the beginning of each unit. Competencies include the knowledge, skills, effective behavior, and/or judgment needed by persons interested in home economics educational areas. Concepts related to the competencies are listed in the right columns. These codes are used: C for developing skills within the Common Elements for all vocational education, B for applying basic/academic skills, "Critical Question" for developing critical thinking skills, and "Key Question" for key points for content discussion and review. Five units cover the following: identifying and using resources; using decision making; using the management process; managing time and energy; and career options related to management. Teaching aids keyed to learning and evaluation experiences are located at the end of the guide. An academic integration supplement accompanies the curriculum guide. It contains learning and evaluation experiences specifically designed to integrate mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies principles within the management course of study. (YLB)
