Academic Integration Supplement to the Food Science and Nutrition Curriculum Guide.
Texas Tech Univ., Lubbock. Home Economics Curriculum Center.
This supplement to a food science and nutrition curriculum guide was developed for use in integrating academic principles with vocational home economics education in Texas. It contains learning and evaluation experiences specifically designed to integrate mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies principles within the food science and nutrition course of study. The conceptual outline as shown in the left-hand column of the guide (with corresponding learning and evaluation experiences in the right-hand column) related to the sub-element of each unit. In the right-hand column, "Key Question" identifies key points for content discussion and review; and "Critical Question" highlights methods of developing critical thinking skills. Ten teaching aids keyed to the learning and evaluation experiences are located at the end of the guide. (YLB)
