This book provides teacher lesson plans that are designed to help teachers of computer literacy courses make appropriate use of instructional materials. It is designed to help inservice teachers with the day-to-day challenge of assisting a wide range of students in becoming more computer literate. In addition, the book is useful for educators who want to know more about how they can help students become prepared for life in the Information Age. The focus is on problem solving in general and on the roles of computers in problem solving. Each chapter contains a rationale and overview of the corresponding chapter in the related student lessons book. The chapters also contain information on ways to coordinate the material with computer literacy courses and provide lesson plans for use as assignments. The book contains 19 lesson plans which include relevant transparencies. The book is based on the philosophy of discovery-based learning and uses journaling as an aid to learning.
