Favorite Labs from Outstanding Teachers. Monograph VII.
Sheldon, Daniel S., Ed.; Penick, John E., Ed.
This monograph is the first attempt to collect and share some of the teaching techniques, activities, and ideas of former recipients of the Outstanding Biology Teacher Award. The lessons are organized into topical themes to facilitate their incorporation into standard curriculum. The manual is divided into two main sections, "Labs" and "Ideas." The section on labs contains descriptions in lesson form of 16 laboratories grouped within the following chapters: (1) "Science Technology Society"; (2) "Taxonomy"; (3) "Ecology"; (4) "Anatomy & Physiology"; and (5) "Cytology." In the section "Ideas," nine ideas are grouped within the following chapters: (1) "Quick Alternatives"; (2) "Student Projects"; and (3) "Newsletters." (PR)
