Presentations of panelists at one in a series of monthly seminars on Family Centered Social Policy are summarized. The first panelist, Maria E. Enchautegui, began with a statistical overview of Latino poverty and then highlighted data for subgroups. Mirien Uriarte presented findings from her study on the experiences of Latinas in the Massachusetts Employment and Training Choices Program. Jose Cruz presented findings of his study on Puerto Rican participation in job opportunities and basic skills programs. The fourth panelist, Dierdre Martinez, presented findings from a 2-year study on Mexican-American mothers, work, and welfare. Final remarks by Marta Elisa Moret reviewed Connecticut's efforts in helping the Latino community. Background reports on Latino families, Latino child and family poverty, subgroup differences, and participation in federal and state programs are included.
