Elements and Structure for a Model Undergraduate Technology Teacher Education Program. CTTE Monograph 11.
Henak, Richard, Ed.
This monograph offers a model for a technology teacher education program that can be used in planning new programs as well as in revising and updating existing programs. A figure illustrates the Technology Teacher Education Model that consists of three elements that are held together with the "rationale." Chapter 1 focuses on the role of the rationale, in which technology (a curricular program) is defined, the need for technology programs is explained, and the steps for implementing a model technology program is described. Chapters 2, 3, and 4 describe the three elements in the Technology Teacher Education Program: general education, technical competency, and professional education. Each chapter contains a focused statement of rationale, content outline, course structure, and description of courses. There are 25 references. (YLB)
