Pursuant to Florida educational legislation, this report presents findings of an educational plant survey conducted in February 1993 at Valencia Community College (VCC). The report is designed to aid the formulation of plans for housing the educational program, student population, faculty, administrators, staff, and ancillary services of the college for the ensuing 5-year period. Sections 1, 2, and 3 provide background information on the plant survey team, procedural policies, the cooperative process used in conducting plant surveys, and the scheduling and statutory foundation of plant surveys in the Florida community college system. Section 4 presents a historical overview of VCC, including its major purposes, goals, and policies as they relate to the capital improvements program. Section 5 analyzes the student population and projected enrollment for the 5-year period, while section 6 highlights the program, service, and facility needs for the five sites of VCC. Section 7 provides an inventory of existing sites and facilities, including site maps, a table of existing satisfactory student stations and space used per facility, and a discussion of instructional and auxiliary facilities. Section 8 provides a plan for housing programs, students, and services, and section 9 features an analysis of capital outlay finances, including revenue sources for capital outlay. The 10th and final section offers recommendations for specific construction, remodeling, and renovating plans, as well as data on site acquisition, development, and improvement needs and costs for each campus, totaling $154,146,286 college wide.
