This publication contains tables which present data concerning the distribution of 1990-91 high school graduates of New York State's public and nonpublic schools. The data were obtained through the Education Department's Basic Educational Data System and reflect the status of graduates as reported by school principals in the fall of 1991. Table 1 presents trends in the college-going rate of high school graduates from 1977 through 1991. Table 2 shows the 15-year trend for the college-going rate, within and outside New York State. Tables 3, 4, and 5 show, respectively, the distribution of 1990-91 high school graduates of public schools, nonpublic schools, and public/nonpublic schools combined. These tables are arranged by county within geographic region. Table 6 displays the distribution of high school graduates by racial/ethnic group. The fall of 1991 is the first year that graduate data were collected for racial/ethnic groups. This table shows data by public schools, nonpublic schools and nonpublic and public schools together for Black (not Hispanic), Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, American Indian/Alaskan, and White (not Hispanic).
