The role of education in preparing young people to face the demands of the 21st century is the focus of this final report of a round table and symposium. The report of the round table focuses on formulating a philosophy of education for the 21st century, the increasing globalization of the world, and the development of a new view of learning for the 21st century. The report of the symposium describes more specific qualitative dimensions of the future of education including cultural, moral and ethical issues, science and technology, communication, and the world of work.
