Curriculum objectives are detailed for the Milwaukee French Language Arts Program in the French Immersion Program. The report is based on the English Language Arts Program in the Milwaukee Public Schools. The philosophy of the program is to use the second language as both the tool and object of instruction. The curriculum indicates what is expected of students at the kindergarten through grade 6 levels if they are to be considered educated communicators. Curriculum areas include: language/ building sentences; word power; maintaining usage and manuscript skills; composing; other writing experiences; comprehending literature; oral language and listening skills; and utilizing study skills.
