Three hearings were held in order to conduct a comprehensive review of the issues, problems, and activities affecting the public availability of government information. It is noted that new information technologies, particularly electronic formats and telecommunications, are forcing the reconsideration of the flow of information from the Federal Government to the citizens of the United States.
