Developed to help Alberta, Canada, teachers implement a new sequence of social studies courses, this teacher resource manual offers suggestions for organizing, teaching, and evaluating the new program, and additional information about the program. It is organized into the following sections and subsections: (1) Teaching Social Studies--social studies program objectives, fundamental goals, thinking and responsible citizenship, teaching strategies, meeting students' needs, and technology in the social studies classroom; (2) Planning for Instruction--planning, evaluation, and planning for the course; (3) Instruction/Evaluation Strategies; (4) Organizational Models and Activities--Social Studies 13--Canada in the modern world, Social Studies 23--the growth of the global perspective, and Social Studies 33--the contemporary world; and (5) Learning Resources.
