McDonald, Geraldine; And Others
Using information gathered through a study funded by the New Zealand Minister of Education, this document examines the history and implementation of the New Zealand government's 1:20 teacher-pupil ratio policy first set in motion in 1985, pupil progress associated with the policy, and related literature about class size. The following papers, each accompanied by a list of references, are included: "Fleshing Out the Bones: The Origins and Development of the 1:20 Teacher-Pupil Ratio Policy in the Junior School" (Cathy Wylie); "Evaluation of the Implementation of the 1:20 Teacher-Pupil Ratio Policy in the Junior School" (Margery Renwick, June Vize, Lynne Smith); "Pupil Progress, Reading Recovery and the 1:20 Teacher-Pupil Ratio Policy in the Junior School" (Geraldine McDonald);"Class Size: A Review of the Literature on Class Size Relating to the Early Years of Schooling" (Valerie N.
