Assessing the Communications Effectiveness of Your School.
St. John, Walter
The Practitioner, v17 n2 Dec 1990
Improving communications between administration and staff members is an urgent, ongoing need. Schools should adopt a communications philosophy in conjunction with continuing communication effectiveness. These evaluations must have clear and understandable objectives, mainly to pinpoint communication strengths and weaknesses. All essential components must be considered for an effective survey. Communications ethics, climate, channels, methods, content, timing, and feedback are all deserving of measurement as are supervisor-subordinate exchange and information sources. A comprehensive communications effectiveness survey and examples of successful school site practices are included. (EJS)
