Improving Teaching and Learning through Classroom Based Research: Final Report.

A collection of reports on 12 classroom-based research projects is presented, representing the individual and collaborative efforts of faculty, advisors, and program coordinators from Sacramento City College and Irvine Valley College, California. First, a final report is presented on the Cooperative Classroom-Based Research project, including descriptive, evaluative, and financial information on this effort to improve teaching and learning through research on the effectiveness of instructional strategies. Christopher Riegle; (3) "Is Writing an Effective Way to Learn Chemical Concepts?" by Naola VanOrden; (4) "A Second Look: Student Persistence and Achievement: An Evaluation of the Effects of an Extended Orientation Course," by Edwin Stupka; (5) "The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) in the College Writing Class," by Donovan Johnson; (6) "Partial Credit with Notes and Rework for Half Credit in Mathematics," by Richard Zucker; (7) "Electronic Music Literacy," by Janice Lynn Wyma; (8) "Dunham Dance Technique to Improve Student Preparedness for Dance," by Shirley Brown; (9) "A Comparison of Two Different Methods of Motivating Students to Improve Their Physical Fitness Levels," by Pam Deegan; (10) "Self-Definition as a Factor in Student Success," by Tonya Hilligoss; (11) "Videotaping of Speech Students," by Craig Grossman; and (12) "Videotaping of Speech Students," Kenneth J.
