The first section of this report presents a summary of topics discussed at the "Towards Massachusetts Smoke-Free Schools" conference. Discussion at the conference focused on school policy, tobacco cessation programs, and tobacco-use prevention programs. Section 2 offers an overview of Massachusetts laws covering smoking and schools, school buses, and public places. Sample policies from the Boston and Quincy public schools are presented. Quotations are given from rules enforced by the Massachusetts interscholastic athletic association. Educational resources for non-smoking curriculum and videos are listed. (JD)
