Performance Guide for Planning, Implementing and Evaluating Vocational Special Needs.
North Dakota State Board for Vocational Education, Bismarck.
Intended to guide the development or expansion of programs and services for North Dakota vocational special needs students, this document offers local school administrators and instructional and support staff a unified system for planning and delivering services. The document explains a series of 15 tasks to be carried out to develop or upgrade vocational special needs services at the local level. Tasks 1-3 address finding out whether there is need and support for vocational special needs services. Tasks 4-10 result in the identification of school and community resources, definition of services to be provided, and determination of how they will be delivered. Tasks 11-14 cover the development of policies and procedures directly related to serving students, including referral, eligibility, development and implementation of vocational plans, monetary services, and student progress. Task 15 addresses program evaluation and includes guidelines for process and product evaluation procedures. The document concludes with a 12-item bibliography, a list of proposed program standards for vocational special needs, a sample special needs follow-up report, and a sample vocational special needs enrollment report.
