Learning Support. 9. Sources of Help and Advice/References and Bibliography.
Faraday, Sally; Harris, Richard
Where to get help to teach special needs students is the subject of this document, the last of 9 modules in an 11-unit resource pack designed to help trainers and postsecondary and continuing education staff meet the needs of special needs students in Great Britain. Having completed the module, staff should be able to: (1) identify when learners needs extra help and advice; (2) distinguish between those needs that the staff can meet and those requiring the help of others; (3) identify and access sources for meeting those needs in-house, locally, regionally, and nationally; and (4) show an appreciation of the need for confidentiality. The module contains a discussion of the support process, 7 exercises (several of which involve case studies), and 72 annotated references. (CML)
