Time Use by Teachers and School Administrators
Roney, Robert K.; And Others
The ways in which teachers and administrators manage their time is the focus of this four-part study, which includes: (1) an introductory overview of a 1984 study of K-12 teachers' use of time; (2) a study of special education teachers' use of time in two counties in Georgia; (3) a study of successful elementary principals' time budgeting; and (4) a study of Tennessee supervisors' daily time management. The latter three studies are based on an observation system developed for the first phase of the research. Although the task categories used in each study changed, the methodology based on field observation and application of the research instrument did not. Each study includes one or more of the following: an extensive bibliography; a summary of the findings; and a copy of the observation instrument. (LMI)
