English Language Teaching in Nepal: A Descriptive Survey Report.
Giri, Ram Ashish
An overview of English language education in Nepal is provided, and a discussion of a study focusing on the English language education situation in Nepal is presented. The investigation sought to answer the following questions: (1) What kind of English curriculum does Nepal have? (2) Who designs and prescribes curriculum, curriculum materials, and textbooks? (3) Do the teachers have any role in the curriculum process? (4) What kind of background do the teachers have? and (5) Are there enough teaching and learning aids available? Answers to these questions are provided, and some of the most prevalent problems that English language teaching (ELT) is facing in Nepal are revealed. (GLR)
