The 100 recommendations in this report were prepared to fulfill part of the requirements of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 1987. The recommendations are based on a consumer satisfaction survey of individuals with developmental disabilities, information on issues and services from the Mississippi Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, reports of activities and plans of relevant state agencies, and data on federal service program data. Recommendations are offered in the following categories: general, education, employment, health, housing, older individuals, income, and civil rights. Appendices contain ratings of and comments on the draft recommendations by 35 administrators of public and private agencies serving individuals with developmental disabilities. (JDD)
