Motlow State Community College Women's Program.

This paper describes a model for a women's program to be established at Motlow Community College in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The program focuses on meeting individual needs and enhancing the individual's potential, while at the same time providing the student with marketable skills. Section 1 describes the purpose and philosophy of the program, the core of which is skills training and entry or reentry into the work force along with job/career/personal goal setting and group counseling. Section 2 describes the target population and the needs assessment survey which will collect information on the women's needs and inform women of the future existence of the program. The program itself is described in Section 3. Objectives, courses, and course materials are covered. Section 4 focuses on program support and discusses staff, budget, method of program evaluation, and future of the program. Appendixes include the needs assessment instrument and descriptions of 35 courses for the women's program. A 17-item list of works consulted and suggested reading is also provided. The manual concludes with notes to aid other institutions in obtaining financial support for a women's programs. (YLB)
