1990-1993 Long Range Plan: Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Pennsylvania Coll. of Technology, Williamsport.
This long-range plan was developed for the Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn College) to strengthen and emphasize the college's strategic orientation and participation in the governance system. The plan is divided into seven major sections. The first section defines long-range planning, discusses its use at Penn College, and explains the structure and intended use of the college's long-range plan. The second section presents Penn College's statements regarding college philosophy, mission, and vision; outlines the major institutional initiatives planned for 1990-91, and offers an overview of the college and its environment. The third section reviews goals and tasks related to credential standards, curriculum portfolios, student objectives, outcomes assessment, foundation skills, lifelong learning, instructional delivery and management, noncredit programming, and business and industry training. Next, a section on student support discusses goals and tasks pertaining to student recruitment, retention, part-time non-traditional students, matriculation, student life, and student services. The next section focuses on academic support, listing goals and tasks related to the program development process, program evaluation, staff development, media and computer use in instruction, and general academic support services. The sixth section covers institutional support goals and tasks related to executive management, budget and finance, human resources, the physical plant, general administration and logistical services, and quality assurance. The final section on public service reviews goals and tasks related to technical consultation and enrichment programming. (WJT)
