RCT English Writing Practice.
Walker, Bernard A., Ed.; Klein, Dorothy, Ed.
Recognizing the rapid establishment of the computer as a routine instrument of instruction, this guide demonstrates with lesson outlines and materials the many ways in which English and/or computer literacy teachers can use microcomputers to teach RCT (Regents Competency Test) English Writing Practice topics. Front matter consists of a foreword, introduction, notes for the user, acknowledgements, preface, a description of suggested classroom management procedures, a brief "Introduction to RCT English Writing Practice" addressed to educators, and an overview of using the word processor. The body of the guide is in three main sections, corresponding to the three separate tests comprising the RCT. The first section deals with business letters in 9 topics and with 20 related student materials. The second section deals with reports in 5 topics and 17 related student materials. The third section looks at compositions in 3 topics and 15 related student materials. Appendixes include a glossary of computer terms, software duplication guidelines, and other computer-related information. (SR)
