Marshall, Marie E.
The newspaper has been a ready source of current information, not only on technology and research, but also on science-related social issues. This program has been prepared to help the teacher use newspapers effectively and with minimum preparation time. A glossary and hints for implementation are included. Part 1 provides 10 activities from science-related newspaper reports and editorials. Part 2 presents 13 activities including making a cartoon, a poster, and a weather page. The activities require skills such as identification, interpretation, analysis, analytical reading, and questioning. In each activity sample newspaper articles and questions for the activity are provided. (YP)
