This packet includes 51 statistical profiles, based on the 1980 census, of American Indian and Alaska Native populations in all states and the District of Columbia. All profiles contain bar graphs illustrating data on total population, urban-rural distribution, counties and places with the largest American Indian populations, median age, families maintained by women, educational attainment, unemployment rates, occupations, median family income, and poverty rates. Profiles of states with large American Indian populations also contain data on population, educational attainment, median family money income, and poverty status for selected cities, metropolitan areas, and counties, and for all American Indian reservations. The Alaska profile breaks down statistics for American Indian, Eskimo, and Aleut populations. (SV)
