Academic Preparation for College: What Students Need To Know and Be Able To Do To Enter College in Alabama.
Alabama State Commission on Higher Education, Montgomery.
To be prepared for a successful college experience, students must know certain academic subjects and have the skills to demonstrate their competencies in these subjects. This booklet outlines what college entrants need to know and be able to do to enter college in Alabama. As of July 1989, admissions standards of all Alabama public colleges and universities reflect the knowledge and skills described here: (1) basic academic competencies--reading, writing, speaking and listening, mathematics, reasoning and studying; and (2) basic academic subjects--English, the arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and foreign languages. Minimum requirements for the Advanced Academic Diploma are also given. (KM)
