This 81-item annotated bibliography is composed of resource materials for teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) at the elementary or secondary levels. For each of the entries, the following information is indicated: target language, educational level, material type, content area, title, date of publication, author/developer, publisher and availability information, and an abstract/description of the material. The bibliography includes conference proceedings, program descriptions (bilingual, sheltered English, and ESL), assessment instruments, materials about theoretical linguistics, annotated bibliographies, materials that endorse particular instructional strategies, computer-assisted instructional materials, courseware, program handbooks, entry/exit information for ESL programs, classroom activities, teacher training materials, and guidelines for adapting non-ESL materials to the ESL classroom.
