This directory provides access to organizations that offer services concerning acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) to deaf and hard-of-hearing people. Organizations included in the directory were selected from listings provided by the National AIDS Hotline and the National AIDS Information Clearinghouse. The directory lists 50 organizations, arranged alphabetically by state, and within each state, alphabetically by city. For each organization, the following types of information are listed: organization name, address, and telephone number; key staff; organization type; geographic service area; description; sponsoring agencies; services; audiences; access procedure; and operation hours. The services offered by the listed organizations include, among others, counseling, food, housing, education, referral, case management, medical evaluations, companions, legal assistance, support groups, alternative therapies, and social programs.
