World Perspective Case Descriptions on Educational Programs for Adults: Nigeria.
Okedara, J. T.; And Others
Seven adult education programs being conducted in Nigeria are described in the case studies in this packet. The courses range from adult basic education to health education to job training and continuing education for teachers. The following programs are profiled: (1) model adult literacy classes (Okedara); (2) correspondence education (Okedara); (3) remedial education (Okedara); (4) health education--worm eradication program (Anyanwu); (5) professional continuing education for grade 2 teachers (Okedara); (6) workers' education (Ngwu); and (7) women's education (Okedara). Most program descriptions are broad overviews of education in the country, rather than information on a specific program. Where possible, program descriptions include information on contact person, type of program, sponsoring institution, content, participants, funding and budget, goals and outcomes, and suggestions for improvement. (In addition to the case descriptions, this document includes information on the World Perspective case study project, indexes of all cases by country and by category, and guidelines for contributors.)
