Public School Choice: New Options for New Jersey Students, Parents, and Educators.
New Jersey State Dept. of Education, Trenton.
This report contains detailed descriptions of three program recommendations regarding public school choice. The recommendations are a result of a study conducted by the New Jersey Department of Education, in which public school choice and magnet schools were examined. The three recommended programs described are (1) Intradistrict Choice Program; (2) Project Attain; and (3) Learning Incentives Program. These three programs are voluntary, 3-year pilots designed to encourage choice within a district, dropouts to return to school, and high school juniors and seniors to take courses in another high school or a college. A list of questions and answers is included. Appended is a program budget summary. (SI)
