Adult Basic Education and General Educational Development Programs for Disabled Adults. A Handbook for Literacy Tutors and Instructors.
Free Library of Philadelphia, PA. Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
This handbook for literacy tutors and adult education instructors is a compilation of information about various handicapping conditions and suggestions for working with students with each of the handicaps. Seven handicapping conditions are considered: hearing acuity problems, visual impairments, deaf blindness, speech and language impairments, learning disabilities, orthopedic impairments, and epilepsy. Information on each condition is followed by teaching suggestions and recommendations specific to that handicap. A directory of resource organizations and services and a brief bibliography conclude the handbook. (YLB)
