This training handbook is a companion volume to "Using Labor Market Information in Career Exploration and Decision Making: A Resource Guide." It is designed for use in a workshop format to introduce the resource guide to counselor educators who will use it as a primary or supplementary text for college courses in career development or occupational information in the counselor education program. Part I provides a preparation checklist and timelines for both a 3-hour (half-day) and 6-hour (full-day) workshop. Part II contains the workshop facilitator's procedures for presenting the resource guide. The six chapters cover understanding career development and the use of career and labor market information in career counseling; understanding the labor market: concepts and applications; exploring labor market information sources and systems; exploring labor market information resources and products; using labor market information in career counseling; and developing a professional plan of action. Each chapter begins by listing goals and content areas. A content outline, activities, and discussion suggestions are provided. Culminating activities follow chapter VI. These facilitator materials are then presented: handout masters, transparency masters, and posttest answers. Part III is a university course outline. (YLB)
