Los Angeles Community Colleges Annual Report '88.
Los Angeles Community Coll. District, CA.
The 1988 annual report for the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) provides information on enrollments, achievements and improvements, financial statistics, and the economic impact of each of the district's nine campuses. An introduction lists the accomplishments of the LACCD as a whole, including enrollment gains in the fall and spring semesters, expansion of English as a Second Language and Amnesty programs, and the location of portable classrooms on LACCD campuses to accommodate students from several overcrowded high schools. The bulk of the report highlights 1988 events and accomplishments at each campus, including: (1) a series of fine arts and cultural programs at East Los Angeles College; (2) programs to extend educational access to working adults, disabled students, and foreign students at Los Angeles Harbor College; (3) participation of several campuses in the Project for Adult College Education; (4) the opening of a permanent campus for Los Angeles Mission College; and (5) the involvement of several campuses in articulation programs with the University of California at Los Angeles. Charts providing an enrollment profile and financial data conclude the report. (AAC)
