This teacher's guide contains six units designed to help teachers form and lead students in a Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter (one unit on chapter management and five instructional units). The format of the guide includes eight basic components that form a unit of instruction: performance objectives, suggested activities for the instructor, information sheets, assignment sheets, job sheets, transparency masters, tests, and answers to tests and assignment sheets. The unit components focus on measurable and observable learning outcomes and are designed to be used in more than one lesson or class period. The six units cover the following topics: introduction to Health Occupations Students of America; HOSA activities; parliamentary procedure; becoming a HOSA leader; giving presentations; and the HOE (Health Occupations Education)-HOSA partnership.
