Project Lead the Way is a developmentally structured career guidance program at North Arlington High School in New Jersey. Encompassing grades 8 through 11, the project is geared to let students explore and become aware of the vast amount of career opportunities available in the work world, as well as to appreciate the importance of a high school diploma. The program began in the 1984-85 school year and is updated by summer workshops for guidance counselors and teachers. This report contains the materials used in the Summer 1988 workshop that evaluated and updated Project Lead the Way. Materials include a project abstract; introduction to the problem including information on related research, evaluation plan, sex role equity statement, and list of fastest-growing jobs; objectives of summer workshop; Grade 8 filmstrips, evaluation, and materials; Grade 9 program, results of teacher evaluation of Grade 9 program; Sophomore Career Exploration and Awareness Program objectives, flowchart, general design, guidance advantages, job description request form, student evaluation forms and results, career clusters, and end of year reminders; letter to Time Share Corporation; things to do flowcharts; general design of the program; things to do brochure; junior survey; junior evaluation and results; junior end of year reminders; letter to alumni career speakers; letter to parents; management timeline; bus transportation schedule; field trip speaker contacts; and thank-you to faculty.
