4th Grade Criterion-Referenced Tests Objectives and Assessment Characteristics, Mathematics and Reading Tests. [Georgia Criterion-Referenced Tests].
Georgia State Dept. of Education, Atlanta.
The reading and mathematics objectives of the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Tests for Grade 4 are described. In reading, objectives are defined for: (1) literal comprehension, the understanding of information explicitly stated in the materials; (2) inferential comprehension, the understanding of information not literally expressed; and (3) problem solving. In mathematics, objectives are defined for areas of: (1) concept identification, the basic vocabulary of mathematics and the interrelationships of different kinds of numbers; (2) component operations, focusing on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the use of units of measurement; and (3) problem solving. For each objective, assessment characteristics are given to define the content appropriate to the grade level. Sample questions accompany each objective. (SLD)
