Characteristics for Second Grade Mathematics Reading Tests, 1985. Second Edition. Georgia Criterion-Referenced Tests Objectives and Assessment.
The objectives and assessment characteristics of the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Tests of reading and mathematics for grade 2 are given to familiarize teachers and curriculum directors. In mathematics, objectives are defined for: (1) concept identification, testing understanding of the basic vocabulary and relationships of numbers; (2) component operations, testing the ability to do addition, subtraction, recognize symbols, and apply concepts; and (3) problem solving. For reading, objectives are defined for: (1) literal comprehension, understanding explicitly stated materials; (2) inferential comprehension, understanding information not literally expressed; and (3) problem solving. Assessment characteristics are listed for each objective to show the content required in grade 2 in everyday and academic contexts. Sample questions accompany each objective. (SLD)
