Teaching Science and Health from a Feminist Perspective. A Practical Guide. The Athene Series.
Rosser, Sue V.
This guide focuses on the content and methodological approaches useful in teaching basic and applied science courses from a feminist perspective. Course content and pedagogical methods for including the feminist perspective are discussed for different curricula, including biology, women's studies, and health. A discussion of approaches for integrating perspectives other than that of the dominant racial/ethnic class, sexual preference, and religious groups is included in each chapter. Thirty-one syllabi of courses actually being offered demonstrate that feminist theory is being put into practice. Also included in this volume are discussions of feminists' perspectives and the positive rewards of teaching from this perspective. (CW)
